INTERMEDIATE - The Football World Cup will take place in Qatar in 2022

The Football World Cup will take place in Qatar in 2022. This sports event is being questioned due to a suspicious result in the choice of the next world cup emplacement and briberies. The problems the FIFA will have to face are:

•   Economic interests and politic influences.
•   If the world cup is in Qatar, there will be many problems because of the heat, and if it is celebrated in winter, it’s a problem for the European League (Champions and Europe League), which will be interrupted for two months and the Winter Games.
•   If it takes place in winter, it will coincide with the Super Bowl, interrupting it’s broadcast.
•   The number of dead workers during the construction, due to the high temperatures.

Some people, like Jim Boyce, the FIFA’S vice-president, suggested to do a new voting and choose a new place. 

ELEMENTARY: On weekdays....

On weekdays, I get up at half past eight in the morning. I take a shower, I comb my hair, I wash my face and brush my teeth. After, I get dressed with a t-shirt. a black trouser and a pair of trainers. I have breakfast in the kitchen: two fried eggs with a toast and a cup of coffee at a quarter past nine. I wash de dishes and I go walking to work at a quarter to ten.

I come back from work at one o'clock p.m, I write some emails and play computer games. I have lunch at half past two in the dining room: green beans with potatoes and a steack with a glass of wine and a banana for the dessert. I watch tv until a quarter to four and then I go back to work, until nine o'clock.

Back home, I spend some time with my girlfriend before dinner. I have dinner at half past ten, while I watch a film on tv.  I go to bed at midnight.

ELEMENTARY: I'm wearing.....

Today I'm wearing a grey jumper with black strips, a green t-shirt, a brown belt, a blue jean, a pair of grey socks and brown trainers with yellow strips.

In summer, when it is sunny and hot, I usually wear a white t-shirt, a short and a pair of sandals.

In winter, when it is cold and cloudy, I usually wear a jumper, a trouser, a coat and a pair of boots.

ELEMENTARY: Today, I had for breakfast.....

Today, I had for breakfast a cup of very hot coffee with a dash of milk and a tea spoon of sugar, two toasts with blackberry jam and a glass of orange juice.

On weekends, I have a cup of milk with chocolate and some corn flakes. Sometimes, I eat some biscuits too.

Yesterday, I wasn't hungry, so I didn't have breakfast.

ELEMENTARY: Talking about the weather: It's spring, it's hot and sunny today.

Today it's April the first. It's a sunny and hot day, with just some little clouds in the sky. It's not going to rain, the sky isn't cloudy. I don't need to take my umbrella. I'm wearing a white t-shirt and a brown trouser. The birds are singing on a branch of the tree in the garden. The flowers are growing and the ladybugs fly among the grass. I like spring.

Bienvenido/a a THE SAXON FACTORY

THE SAXON FACTORY es un blog creado por y para estudiantes de inglés, moderado por profesores con una respetable experiencia en la lengua de Shakespeare.

THE SAXON FACTORY pretende servir como un portal libre y plural, en la que estudiantes de inglés de todo el mundo puedan expresarse libremente en inglés, desarrollando sus habilidades de escritura, compartiendo conocimientos, haciendo amigos, leyendo las aportaciones de otros profesores y estudiantes.

Podéis incluir material en vídeo, texto, enlaces a páginas web, fotografías.... cualquier contenido que os guste, que os parezca interesante y creáis que puede ser interesante para otras personas, eso sí, todo debe estar en inglés, pues la clave es que éste blog sea un instrumento útil de aprendizaje para vosotros.

No hay límites de extensión sobre cuánto podéis escribir, ni tampoco un mínimo. Existe un compromiso de publicar un cierto número de entradas cada semana o cada mes, tú decides cómo, cuánto, qué y desde donde quieres crear nuevos contenidos en el blog. Por supuesto, cualquier contenido desagradable, ofensivo, que incite al racismo, el odio, el maltrato, la discriminación etc será inmediatamente eliminado del blog y al autor se le prohibirá volver a escribir.

Si deseas colaborar con nosotros, debes tener una cuenta de Google. Si utilizas Gmail o Youtube, por ejemplo, ya tienes una cuenta que puedes utilizar. Si estás interesado, simplemente debes dejar un comentario con tu dirección de correo electrónico de Google, en éste post, explicando por qué te interesa colaborar con nosotros, indicando si eres profesor/ a o estudiante.

Todos los contenidos, deben ser clasificados para el nivel de inglés al que se dirigen. Podéis incluir contenido dirigido a los más debutantes en el idioma, a aquellos que apenas os hayáis iniciado, o para los más veteranos. Para marcar a que nivel se dirigen los contenidos que has publicado, simplemente debes incluir en las etiquetas o tags de tu post, la palabra correspondiente:  BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED, SENIOR (siendo BEGINNER el nivel debutante-inicial en el idioma y SENIOR el nivel de conocimiento más avanzado, orientado a los estudiantes o docentes de más nivel)
